I draw from photographs. I can work from existing photos, or if you are in the Los Angeles area I can take the photos myself, for an additional fee of $45.

I can combine two or more photos into one portrait, although the lighting must match for a convincing result.

You can order your portrait in either black and white or color. I can add background elements if you wish, for an extra fee. I can also draw pets and houses. Just ask.

All portraits are drawn on archival paper, ready for framing. I recommend professional framing to ensure that your portrait is a memorable keepsake that you will enjoy for decades to come.

Your photos can be in digital form or you can mail prints. Printed photos must have faces that are at least 3" high and be reproduced from film negatives, NOT from your computer printer. (I will return your photos with the finished drawing.) .

All photos should be as large as possible and very clear and sharp. Soft natural lighting is best, as opposed to flash, which can wash out important details. If sending more than one photo, make sure the lighting matches. The quality of your portrait depends on the photographs that you provide.

To place an order, send me an email with your photos, or call me to book a photo shoot and/or discuss what type of portrait you wish. In the email, specify size, color or black and white, and any other details you wish to include.

Once we have agreed on the specifics, I will email a very rough thumbnail layout sketch for your approval (especially important if I am working from more than one photo). I require a 50% deposit before I begin the drawing. I will email a photo of the finished drawing for your approval, within two to three weeks in most cases. Any minor alterations you wish can then be done before I mail the final version. I will also email a high-resolution digital copy of the finished drawing, so that you can print out copies if you wish. Framing is not included, but I am happy to take care of that for you for an extra fee, to be bid separately.

You can pay online with a credit card via Paypal, or mail a check, bank check or money order. As soon as the balance in full is received (and the check clears, if applicable), I will mail your portrait. Insured ground USPS delivery in the continental U.S. is included (though a framed portrait will incur an extra postage fee). Air delivery or international postage costs will be added to the fee.
